Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and vpn.now when you use our service, our apps, our browser extensions, and our website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. We wrote them in plain language so you can actually read them. If anything is unclear, contact support and we will explain it.
In short: use vpn.now lawfully and for normal personal or business use, keep your password safe, and pay for the plan you choose. We give you an encrypted connection across apps and extensions, a 30 day money back guarantee on paid plans, and a service we never use to record what you do online.

What vpn.now provides
vpn.now is a virtual private network service built on a modern VPN protocol. When you connect, your internet traffic is encrypted between your device and our servers, and websites see our server's IP address instead of yours. We deliver the service in several ways:
- Native apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS, which protect all traffic on the device.
- Browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, which are an encrypted proxy that protects your browser only, not other apps on the device.
- A free in-browser web proxy tool for quick, page-by-page use without installing anything.
- The website, where you manage your account, plan, and devices.
We are honest about the limits. A VPN does not make you anonymous, it does not protect against every online threat, and we do not guarantee access to any specific website or streaming service. We aim for high uptime but do not promise the service will never have outages. You can check current network health any time on our server status page.
Your account
You need an account to use the service. We offer free and paid plans. A free plan applies automatically to every new account, so you can start without paying. You can upgrade to a paid plan whenever you choose.
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to create an account. You agree to give us a working email address, keep your password secret, and tell us quickly if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Plans, billing, and renewal
If we offer paid plans in the future, they will be billed in advance for the period you choose, and the full amount will be shown before you pay. There are no hidden fees.
The free plan costs nothing and does not expire. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period at the listed price unless you cancel first.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account dashboard. When you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for, and your account then returns to the free plan. We do not charge cancellation fees.
Refunds
Every paid plan includes a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied for any reason, contact support within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund. The details, including the rules for renewals, are in our refund policy, which is part of these terms. The free plan has no charge and so has nothing to refund.
Acceptable use
vpn.now is a tool for privacy and security. It is not a shield for crime. You agree to obey the laws that apply to you, both where you live and where our servers are located, and you agree not to use the service for any criminal, illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
In particular, you agree not to use vpn.now to do, attempt, or help any of the following:
- Break the law, or carry out criminal, fraudulent, or deceptive activity of any kind.
- Store, send, or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities and act on with zero tolerance.
- Infringe other people's intellectual property or distribute copyrighted material you have no right to share.
- Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or operate from our network in a way that gets our addresses blacklisted.
- Attack, scan, probe, or gain unauthorized access to networks, systems, or accounts that are not your own.
- Distribute malware, run command and control infrastructure, or launch denial of service attacks.
- Use fraudulent or stolen payment methods, or commit payment fraud against us or anyone else.
- Harass, threaten, or harm other people, or promote illegal activity.
We use automated and manual tools to identify prohibited activity and to minimize abuse of our network, such as acting on abuse complaints that identify one of our server addresses and a timestamp. Because we never store your browsing activity, DNS queries, or traffic contents, these tools cannot and do not reconstruct what you browse. The complete list of prohibited conduct and how we handle abuse reports is in our acceptable use policy, which is part of these terms.
Software licence
We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to install and use the vpn.now apps and browser extensions, for the purpose of connecting to the service under these terms. The licence lasts as long as your account is in good standing and ends if your account is closed.
The apps and extensions sign in to your account using a per-device access token rather than storing your password. You can revoke any app or extension at any time from your account dashboard, which immediately stops that copy from connecting. We may also revoke a token if an account breaches these terms.
You agree not to do any of the following:
- Resell, rent, or sublicense the apps, extensions, or your access to the service.
- Reverse engineer the software to defeat or weaken its security.
- Redistribute modified builds of our apps or extensions. We sign our releases and publish checksums so people can verify they are running the genuine, unaltered software, and modified copies undermine that.
The vpn.now apps and extensions are provided under these terms. Open source third-party components included in them are provided under their own licences, and those licences apply to those components.
Browser extensions and the web proxy
The Chrome, Firefox, and Opera extensions are an encrypted proxy for your browser. They protect the traffic of that browser only. Other apps on your device, and traffic outside the browser, are not protected by an extension. To protect everything on a device, use one of the native apps.
The free in-browser web proxy is a read-only convenience for loading individual pages. It is not a full tunnel and does not protect your whole device or your other apps. Use the apps or extensions when you want ongoing protection.
Devices and fair use
Each plan includes a stated number of devices that can use the service at the same time. You can add and remove devices freely within that limit. The service is for normal personal or business use by you. You may not resell access, share your account with large groups, or run the service in a way that degrades it for other people.
Your data and privacy
We never store your browsing activity, your DNS queries, or the contents of your traffic. We do not record the websites you visit or the addresses you open through the web proxy. The only connection measurement we keep is aggregate metadata that contains no account identifiers, and an automatic job purges it after 30 days.
Our privacy policy lists every item we store and what we never collect, and it is part of these terms. Our transparency page explains what we can and cannot produce if we are legally compelled.
Warranty and limitation of liability
We work hard to keep the service fast, secure, and available, but to the extent the law allows we provide it "as is" and without warranties beyond what the law requires.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, caused by service interruptions or third party actions. Nothing in these terms removes rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that cannot be waived.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your account dashboard. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the acceptable use policy, or where the law requires us to. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will warn you first. We do not give refunds for accounts closed for abuse. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current paid billing period.
Governing terms and changes
The refund policy, the acceptable use policy, and the privacy policy are each part of this agreement. We improve the service over time, and sometimes that means changing features or these terms. If we make a meaningful change to the terms, we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies and request a refund for the unused part of your paid period.
